Broken Bones and Chipmunk Cheeks

This past Wednesday my mom had jaw surgery...just another lovely part of her orthodontics. From my limited understanding they broke her jaw and then repositioned it more forward. This should get rid of her overbite which caused a lot of tension in her neck  and caused her to have frequent headaches. So I guess this surgery is a trade off - deal with short-term, intense pain rather than long-term, drawn-out pain. She is doing really well and can handle the pain. My mom is TUFF :) Unfortunately, she is no fun on drugs and hasn't been the least bit weird or crazy. Dang it!
